Word 97 - HELP!!!!

I have been getting a similar problem when I try to save
a document in Word97. My message is as follows:

szAppVer: 8.0.0.8909
szModName: hungapp
szModVer: 0.0.0.0.
offset: 00000000

If I try to save a document, only the first initial of
the file name is changed

Also, when I open Word97 the display settings change to a
lower resolution.

The article at
http://word.mvps.FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm is
of ABSOLUTELY NO ASSISTANCE.

PLEASE HELP.

With Word closed, use Windows Explorer or My Computer to search for the
WINWORD.EXE file on your computer. Right-click on WINWORD.EXE, then
left-click on Properties | Compatibility. If the "Run this program in
compatibility mode" box is checked, uncheck it, and click on Apply.
Close Windows Explorer or My Computer and start Word... do the problems
persist?

problem with saving. Any clues about sorting out the
display problem??

I would have thought that that might be related. Have you restarted Windows
and Word since making the changes?

Hi suzanne, did the display issue ever got sorted out. I have the same
problem and it drives me crazy?
When I open up a word doc the display settings changes from 32bit 1024x768
to 32bit 640x480.
I tried to uninstall, re-install, updates, the winword.exe compability...
PLEASE, let me know if and how your prob is resolved.

One of the options on the winword.exe compatibility menu is "Run in
640x480 screen resolution"... uncheck that box.
