WORD 97 linespacing problem

R

richard lukin

I am trying to edit a manuscript. I have triple-spaced
it, and now want to type italicized suggestions, etc.,
BETWEEN the triple-spaced lines of text.

So I need to keep the document spaced as it is and be
able to add comments from the top in a single-space mode,
to get in between the lines that are there now. But I
can't get FORMAT/PARAGRAPH/LINESPACING to do anything but
re-space the entire document--that is, with the triple-
spacing in place, putting the cursor at the top of the
document and telling FORMAT to single-space simply
respaces the entire document.

No one seems to know the answer to this, which I'd have
thought to be a perfectly simple quesiton that ought to
be in the HELP menu. Help!

You'll need to put a transparent text box on top of the existing document
and type in that.
