This question concerns the Spelling Checker in Microsoft Word 97, installed
on this PC. The OS on this PC is Windows 2000 Professional.
I recently created several user accounts on this PC, including 1 user,
"Image", a member of the "Users" group (as opposed to "Power Users" or
"Administrators"). For ONLY this 1 user, "Image", the Microsoft Word 97
Spelling Checker is not available. In fact, in Word 97, under "Tools/
Options", the tab titled "Spelling & Grammar" is grayed-out.
Clearly, it seems that the user "Image" does not have the appropriate
permissions to run the Word 97 Spelling Checker. So, for the following 2
folders, I set the permissions for all members of the group "Users" to "Full
Control". The folders are: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office" and "C:
\Program Files\Common Files".
However, after doing this, the Word 97 Spelling Checker still does not work
for the user "Image".
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can have the Word 97 Spelling
Checker work for the user "Image"?
