Word 97 not responding error

I am using Office 97 (Word 97) with Windows XP. I just installed the latest
service packs to be sure I was up to date.

I wasn't having any problems until a week or so ago. I created a table and
had set the margins for .3". I inserted new columns and the right margin
went off the page. When I tried to go to Page Setup, I would click on File,
Page Setup and then I would get the message (after a few seconds) "Program
not responding". I was able to correct my document through our LAN on
another computer and then I still was having problems with this one document.
Then I noticed that when I tried to change fonts through the dropdown box on
ANY document, I would get the same message. I also can't go into page setup
for a brand new document without this happening.

Both these symptoms point to a problem with the printer driver. Try deleting
and reinstalling the printer. If the printer is on the network, make sure
the driver is installed locally.
