Word 97 Options Dialog Damaged

T

Tom O'Shea

Using Word 97 on WinXP. On several of the tabs in the Options dialog the
tab contents are shifted right and down (in several cases out of sight).
I think this happened after running the "second Tuesday" updates this month.

This happened previously, maybe two years ago. At that time I reinstalled
Word, then assorted updates and patches and it's been fine since. The
affected tabs are different than last time, so it hasn't been critical, but
it's really annoying. (Last time I believe it was View, General, and User
Information. This time Edit, Track Changes, and Compatibility.)

Can anyone point me to a solution other than reinstalling?

Thanks.

Tom: I can only suggest two things.
First, clean up your hard drive, just to rule that out:

Troubleshoot Word:

Methinks the registry edit would be the one to fix it. As I recall, however,
this could occur on systems running higher versions of Word in addition to
97, but there was a patch, I thought. Hmmmm... I haven't seen this issue in
a long time.
