WORD 97 Registry Error

I am trying to open a Word Document from VB6 by simply
using createobject(word.application). Everything works
in Word 2000 and up. But with Word 97, I get below
message:
The Windows registry has reported that one or more
required files are damaged or missing. To correct this
problem, run the Word Setup program.

Any ideas?
