Word 97 - separate windows in taskbar

I am currently using Word 97. Everytime I open a document, a separate window
appears in the taskbar. I would like to have all documents open in the same
window. Everything I have read tells me that this shouldn't be happening
with Word 97, but it is. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this would be
greatly appreciated.

Word 97? OS?

It is usually a Windows setting: right-click on the Taskbar, select
Properties and check Group similar Taskbar buttons.
