Word 97 Spell Check

I know it is an old version of Word but I am unable to
access the Spell Check Functions in Word on a Windows 2000
machine unless logged in as administrator.

I have tried to check the path to the dictionary from the
user login but the spell check tab is greyed out. Can
anyone help?
