Word 97 Thesaurus will not install

I was happily using Word 97 when, one day, I noticed my
thesaurus was no longer there. The selection is still
active on the Tools/Language menu, but no suugestions come
up for any words I enter.

IT reinstalled Word, and selected to install the Thesaurus
component, but I still have no thesaurus.

IT is scratching its collective head.

If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.
