I have just transferred and have a few questions:-

When attempting to remove a text box or clear cells in a table, It ask
you if you really want to delete the box. It is possible to preven
this extra step in deletion.

Can you turn off the anti-aliased drawing of lines and shapes

It sounds like you may have WordPerfect options turned on.
Turn them off under Tools-Options, General tab.

As for anti-aliasing, I recognize this as a graphics term, but canno
figure out what it might mean in terms of Office drawing objects
Sorry. Perhaps you can describe differently or someone else wil
remember what it means
