I know this must be some problem with the settings, but I can't find
it. For the past couple of weeks, Word started saving the simplest
files (several lines of text) in huge files - 1.24MB and more.
I had this problem some years ago, and tried the trick I remember -
copying the entire document except the final paragraph mark into a new
document and saving it, but that didn't help.
"Allow fast saves" is NOT enabled.
There are no macro project items in the template.
When I tried "Recover text from any file," I got hundreds of pages of
gibberish. I remember this happened last time I had the problem too,
but just can't recall which fix I tried that actually worked.
I would be most grateful for some help with this.
