word 97 won't read forms created in word 2003

I've created forms in Word 2003 which were distributed to people working in
many different versions. Those using Word 97 find that the tables are a
horrible mess when opened. Is there something that I can do to make the form
cross the boundry between versions without having this complication?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

On the Save tab of Tools | Options, enable the option to "Disable features
introduced after Microsoft Word 97." This is a document-specific setting and
won't affect your other documents.

Hi Suzanne,
Great advice...thanks! As soon as I did this, the problem was clear...I'd
forgotten nested tables aren't available in 97. You're an angel!!!

Yes, a lot of new table features were introduced in Word 2000. Usually these
will degrade gracefully, but your Word 97 users won't see exactly what you
intended.
