I'm running a Compaq Presario 2500 notebook that has an
ATI graphics card in it. I'm running a dual monitor
setup. The primary monitor is the notebook LCD, the
secondary monitor is an NEC Multisync 95. The notebook
LCD is running at 1024x768, and the monitor is running at
1600x1200.
Most apps display full size in the monitor (utilize the
whole screen). Word 97, however, is weird. It only
maximizes to what looks like 1600x768. The Word window
takes up the full width of the monitor, but it won't
allow me to go more than 768 pixels high. No portion of
the Word window is overlapping the LCD display area.
I can move the Word window around in the whole monitor
screen space, I just can't size it up.
XL has a prolem as well. The outer window displays full
screen, but the inner, worksheet, windows only allow
sizing up to what is probably 1024x768.
Seems as though both apps are getting screen sizing info
from the notebook LCD, not from the second monitor.
I'm running Word 97 with SR2 on XP Pro.
I've downloaded the latest display driver from Compaq
(for ATI).
I also spent about 30 minutes chatting with the Compaq
tech support people, which was absolutely a waste of time.
I also deleted the Data registry key for Word.
Is there a Word setting somewhere for max height?
