A whole plethora of problems would cause your symptoms. Try these in a sort
of order of likelihood:
1. Partially corrupt normal.dot (rename normal.dot as normal.bad and test
again).
2. Partially corrupt printer driver (delete the printer from the Control
panel and reinstall it making sure that you have the latest available
driver).
3. An accumulation of temporary files (the Windows/Temp directory should
be empty when all applications are closed. Start the computer, go straight
to the Windows Temporary directory - note that sometimes the Temp directory
is directly in the root of C: rather than under Windows /Temp - and delete
all the contents).
4. In addition to para 3, you may just need some serious Windows
housekeeping: run a full ScanDisk and follow up with a full Defrag. Make
sure that you have at least 500MB free disk space when finished.
