word 98 won't open with Mac osX

I reinstalled word 98 but it wont open and only appears
under recent applications. I try to open it but it says it
doesn't exsist. I try to reinstal it but when I put in the
disc and go to where I need to go to install it, When i
click to install it opens word. How can I just get it set
up to open word without the installation disk?

Does Word launch if you launch Classic first?
(If you didn't have Classic, Word 98 would not run.)

You need to completely remove it, then empty the trash, and THEN reinstall.
Your shortcut to Word is pointing to the CD not to the Hard Disk.

To remove Office 98, use the removal tool available at
<http://www.microsoft.com/mac/download/>, not the removal tool that's on the
CD. And don't forget to reinstall the Value Pack items you want and apply
the most current updaters (available at the same URL).
