word always opens in "layout view"

Everytime I open a document using Word 2000, it opens in
the layout view. This just started happening 4-5 weeks
ago. Any idea how to make it open dcouments in normal view
like it used to?

Existing documents open in the view in which they were saved. To change the
view for new documents, see
