Word always saves last printer settings - does not revert to default

Why does MS Word not revert to the default printer settings for each
document? If I change one thing for one document it is still selected
for the next document - even if Word was shut down and re-opened. How
can I get it to revert back to default settings each time?

Word should be reverting to the default Windows printer if you close and
reopen it, but if you are using Word as your email editor in Outlook, then
there may still be an instance of Word running, so the active printer
setting would be saved.

Suzanne has probably given you the reason why: If this is bothering you, you
can create a print macro that selects the different printer, sends the
document to print and then reverts back to the default printer. Place it on
the toolbar next to the normal print button.
