WORD and EXCEL documents downloaded from email

Word and Excel docs downloaded through by email web client open just fine. The very same docs downloaded through Enourage will not open (cannot be read). File names and suffix are identical. Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

Make sure the attachments are not just downloaded partially. To do so, go to
Tools>Accounts, double-click your account, switch to the Options tab and
disable "Partially receive messages over". See if that works. As for
messages that have already been downloaded, click on the tiny envelope icon
next to the item in the message list and choose "Receive complete message"
from the contextual menu.
