Word and Excel Shortcuts Disappear

Recently there have been a few PC's that have Office XP
installed and for some unknown reason the shortcuts for
Word and Excel disappear. Powerpoint and Outlook are
intact. Does anybody know of any viruses or spyware that
is causing this to happen?
