Word and Excel take 30 seconds or longer to load when browsing to file either
directly to file or using a shortcut. There is no difference noticed weather
it is a local folder or a over the network. When I open the Word or Excel
first and then go to open the document it opens normally.
I am running XP Pro SP2, Office 2003 SP2, Nortan Anti-virus, and Adobe
Acrobat 7.0.
I have already disabled nortan office add-in, moved the excel and word
pdfmaker.xla and .dot files with not change.
I tried an Office detect and repair to no avail.
I then uninstall all the above applications and reinstalled them fresh and
the system still does not open properly when using a short-cut for browsing
to the file before the application is opened.
If anyone has any more ideas on this I would appreciated it.
Thank you
