There's no difference at all in the software: it's bit-for-bit the same
thing.
However, the packaging (the optional extras included with it) are different.
Home and Student does not include a couple of items that you probably can't
use anyway: Automator Actions and Exchange Connectivity. If you don't know
what those are, you don't need them. Unless you are connected to a business
computer server and network, you can't use them anyway
And it will be even cheaper if you buy it from a specialist software store:
the Apple Store sells everything at full price: if you look around you'll
find it for less than $120.00.
Note that the software is being sold to you at a deep discount because you
agree that you will not use it to earn your living. If you intend to use
the software in business, then you should pay full price. If you do pay
full price, you will get Automator Actions and Exchange Connectivity.
Hope this helps
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Why
does the MS Student and Home Office for mac cost $149.95, while MS Word for
Mac costs 229.95. (Prices from Apple Store). Are they the same version of
Word? I would expect Office to cost more than Word.
