Word and Photodraw won't open documents in Explore and Outlet Expr

After using a 3rd party quick clean-up program (PC Fine Tune from Earthlink),
MS Word won't open .docs and Photodraw won't open .jpgs as I have it set up
in Folder Options>File Types. Under programs, they are no longer listed, as
well.
Although both .exes are found, when I try to open PhotoDraw from it, I am
told that the program must be loaded in order to open.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions to help.
Thank you.

From Start, Run, type in

winword /a

and press enter. Does Word open now in Safe Mode?

I don't think there is any Safe Mode for PhotoDraw. But what you need to do
for Word is reregister it (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ReRegisterWord.htm). A similar procedure
may be needed for PhotoDraw, but see also
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/250833 (or search Google for your specific
error message, such as "This application must be installed to run").

In any case, a Word newsgroup is not the best place to look for solutions to
PhotoDraw problems. You might try microsoft.public.photodraw.discussion.

Safe Mode is where Word is forced to start in its default install mode
bypassing absolutely every customisation: add-ins, templates, macros, user
changes, etc. It basically proves that there is nothing wrong with Word
itself or the important parts of the OS. It may also make a registry change
if it finds anything obvious wrong.

Of course, this 'cleaner' may have corrupted the DataKey. Run Regedit and
navigate to the Word DataKey and delete it.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\version number\Word\Data

Word will recreate it automatically when it is opened next time.

Never run any of these so called cleaners that work on the registry:
generally speaking, they are unnecessary and can damage your system.
