Word and Windows start and stop

Every time I start windows, or stop it, the following sequence has to be run
through several times.
1. This file is in use by another application or user..... normal.dot
2. Save as... normal.dot, save or cancel
3. Window with Microsoft word at the top, which I close
4. Changes have been made that affect the global template, normal.dot. Do
you want to save these changes? Yes, No, Cancel
After I click for instance No, the whole sequence starts again.
Please help me solve this problem that I have suffered from a long time.

If you're using Symantec/Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the
Office Plugin that comes with it. See

I have a corporate edition of Norton anti virus and no Norton Office plug-in.
I have a ScanSoft plug-in in Word to create PDF files, can this cause this
problem?
