Word Art in Word 2007

I notice that the Word Art in Word 2007 is still the old versions that's
found in the older Office versions, whilst the Word Art in Excel and Power
Point is the new one, is it supposed to be like this?

Is there a way to import the Word Art found in Excel and Power Point for use
in Word 2007? It looks so out of place with all the new smart art, etc...

That is correct.
You can copy & paste a new WordArt from Excel or PPT as image into Word.
