word art

I would like to know how to expand the number of words that you can put in
Word Art. So far, I can only input about 199 words w/spaces. There seems to
be a lot of space below for me to write in, but after the approximate 199
words, it freezes and won't allow anything further to be put into the Word
Art object.

Just curious... What is it you are trying to do?

To my knowledge, Word Art isn't meant for writing long verbage...

So what would you suggest for long verbiage? I've tried autoshapes, but
haven't figured out how to rotate the box with the text, because the text
does not move with the box when it is rotated? I want to put words in a box
and move it around the page to position it where I want it freeform format.

Yes, that works perfectly, only this is a document that's acting like a
template and will be sent out to others to complete, so it needs to be
editable in WORD format because so many others have WORD. I looked at
conversion, but it only imports WORD documents, not export to WORD format.

Have you tried a basic text box? I was able to create a basic text box...
and insert nearly 1000 words -- the text box was the size of an 8 1/2 x 11
page (with margins). It was a basic rectangle -- nothing fancy.

I could then use the FORMAT --> TEXT DIRECTION option to change the
orientation of the text. I was limited to horizontal of vertical (not
angled at all). But I could move the text box around the page.

Not sure if that will be helpful or not... but the only thing I could think
of.

Yes I have tried both a basic text box and a auto-shaped box. Yes, I can
move the box around, but I need to keep the text editable, plus be able to
put both the box with the text inside at an angle. Thank you anyway for
trying to help.

As mentioned, the only way to rotate text to an arbitrary angle is to use the
work around offered by Graham but it renders the text uneditable. If what you
are trying to set up some procedure to handle a single alterable page (and
you are forced to use WORD), is there any way you can keep your editable text
on a second page and build into the procedure the method proposed by Graham,
including a target angle rectangle on the main page. Maybe this would be
either impractical or too cumbersome for your users.

Another alternative would be to print on acetate and rotate this on a back
page and photocopy.

Let's hope that some of this will trigger a solution

To make it easy, Susan's answer is the best one - you will have to invest in
some software that is made to do the job.
