Word Auto Number Question

I know how to use Word's auto number feature to place a number in front
of a line, like:

1. Years in business;

2. Place of business transaction...

BUT how do you use Word's Auto Number feature when the auto numbering
is embedded in a sentence, like so...

Request For Admission No. --

Admit that you did business in Bangladesh.

Request For Admission No. --

Admit that you placed orders from Bangladesh.

Where the "--" is the auto number. Any takers? :) Thanks in advance.

The text you want is actually part of the number, as opposed to putting
the number within the paragraph.

With the line selected, choose Bullets and Numbering from the Format
menu. Click on the Customize button. In the Number format field prefix
the number with "Request For Admission No. " in front of the number.

Thanks Matthew. Problem is that there is an underline formatting to
those customized text numbering that goes screwy when it gets into the
double-digits. I think Word things the return space is part of the
formatting or something to that effect.

Hi Jake,

To do what you want, I believe you'll have to leave auto numbering behind
and use style-based numbering. Take a look at this article:
