Every time I edit a microsoft WORD file, As soos as the file is saved.
WORDS creates a shortcut of this file in the root of C:\. How do I stop
this happenning.

I don't have a solution, but I might be able to point you in the right
direction. It sounds like instead of creating shortcuts in your 'My Recent
Documents' folder, Windows has start spewing them all over you root folder
(C:). Try observing the effects of opening documents in another program such
as notepad or wordpad to see if the same thing happens.
