word automatically deleting text

Kim67 was telling us:
Kim67 nous racontait que :
how can I stop automatic deleting of adjacent letters when I'm
editing in word?

If the letters "OVR" are on (I mean if they appear in black at the bottom of
the screen, in the middle of the status bar in Word) hit the "Insert" key
once to turn them off.

If they are already off, maybe you are referring to the default behaviour of
replacing selected text by whatever is typed, to turn this off go to Tools >
Options > Edit tab and uncheck "Typing replaces selection". IF you do this,
you have to use the "Delete" key to remove selected text before replacing it
by something else.

frustrating !! Still don't know how they got changed but it doesn't matter,
problem now solved ! Thanks again. Kim
