Word blank document

I don't know how to get back my word document. When I
open microsoft word 2000, I get a document with wording
on it from a file I cut & pasted. Everytime I open a
blank document I get that file. How do I get this back to
a blank document. I tried reloading word to repair it,
but it didn't work.
