When printing ... words 'marked' with hiliter - print BLOTCHY! How can I
cure this?

Buy a new printer. Or clean your existing one, or put a new ink cartridge in
it. Or check for an updated print driver. Theoretically Word could be
responsible for this but it's very, very, unlikely - the printer is almost
certainly to blame.
