Word Bombs

I have Office 2000 SR-1 with service pack three
installed. Whenever I launch word it opens a dialog
informing me that office 2000 SR-1 is preparing to
install. It then runs a progress bar as if it is
installing software, and then opens the document I wish
to view. I found out that if I cancel the "Installation"
then it opens my document quicker. Yesterday Word started
bombing out. As soon as I open a document it gives a bug-
report dialog, and then bombs. I have uninstalled word,
re-installed word, repair installed, re-installed office,
etc. The 'Installing office SR-1 Premium' dialog no
longer opens when I launch Word, but now word doesn't
work at all.

Any suggestions?
