Word but no Office

Long story short: I'm showing Word on my drice but when I try to create a
doc or open an existing one, I'm told I need Office to access Word. Had it
originally on this comp (Gateway). When it crashed a year ago I used the
Install disk, but it never installed Office. How can I have Word but not
Office? And is there a way to extract Office specifically from my Startup
Disk?

You should have Office on a separate disk.
