Word can no longer connect to my Access query data source

I have set up many mail merge documents in word reading data from an access database query. However, today I continually recieve an error message informing me that word cannot find the data source. I have tried resetting the link but with no success
Can anyone suggest what went wrong and how this can be fixed?

Do you happen to know which type of data connection you used?

When you try "resetting the link" does it work then? Are you only having the problems when opening an existing document?
