I have a user who is having problems with the above error message. The user
has a windows NT machine running office 2000 sp3. The user uses roaming
profiles.

The users gets this on certain documents he opens, yet other users who use
the same document do not experience any problems.

The tests I have done so far to resolve the problem are:
- Reset local and roaming profile and recreated using a different machine
- User has had a machine upgrade, but error still occurs
- copied document into notpad and back (although if this was the issue all
users would be effected?)
- change the language to UK after highlighting document as in microsoft
knowlege base article
- reinstalled office and sp3

None of these resolved the problem, which seems to be quite intermitant.

Any help would be great
Thanks
Chris.

Hi Chris

I am having exactly the same problem. See my posts under 'Strange spelling
message'. No-one has yet found the answer. I'm surprised because they like a
challenge here :) Let's keep in touch and see if we can beat it!

Make sure that the keyboard language and all settings under the Regional
settings are set for English UK.

Run the Office Language tool and uninstall all languages except UK English.

Open Outlook and make sure that all the settings are for UK English too.

If the problem still persists, you need to try to find out what the
documents causing problems have in common (created from a common template,
edited by a particular user, sent as an email attachment, etc.).
