"word cannot merge main document...."

Hi.
I'm using Word 2002, and have everything ready to "Merge to
New Document": as soon as I click on that icon, word will
count all records (which exist), but then will send me the
following message: "word cannot merge main document with
the data source because the data records where empty or no
data records matched your query options".
I'm sure all data is ok, so what am I missing?

Thanks.

Hi J.Fandango,

Interesting...

1. Are you able to preview the data (the <<ABC>> button)?

2. What's the data source? Do you happen to know how you've
linked it in?

3. Have you set any query options in Word? Or clicked
checkboxes in the "Recipients" dialog box?

Hi Cindy,
yes, everything seems to be ok: I can preview all the data
through the ABC button, which is linked to an access data
table, and all recipients are checked through the "select
all" button...

OK, if you create a new document and link to the same data
source, do you get the same problem, or will that merge?

If it doesn't work, if you hold down CTRL to start Word,
then test?

Following another path, are you linking to a table or
query in Access? If you link up using DDE or ODBC instead
of OLE DB (I'm assuming this, since you don't specify) is
it better? (Tools/OPtions/General, activate "Confirm
conversions on open" then link in the data again)

Thanks again, Cindy.
I've redone the Main document, and now it works.
Cheers,
