Hi,
We're using MOSS 2007 and Office 2007. When someone who has only read access
to a MOSS site opens a hyperlink to a Word document from this site, it opens
(rightly so) in Word 2007 as read-only. The problem is that in Word you
cannot open an embedded word document object when in read-only mode ! Only
option is to save the document locally and reopen it as read-write, or copy
the embedded object to another document.
Is this a bug in Word ? Or does anyone know a better workaround ?
Johan
PS: will post the same question in MOSS forum (see which one gets the first
answer ;-)
