I know this question was ask before, but it didn't help me. (1) I don't have
Norton installed--- I have MS Live OneCare Beta. But I did try opposite
clicking on the file and going to the Properties menu and at first I had the
General Tab, Security Tab, and one other. I tried to changes owners in the
Security Tab area, but it didn't seem to help --- I may have entered the
wrong use. But NOW the security tab is missing; only General is left. I
tried restoring my system to a day prior to the day I attempted to fix the
problem, but the other Tabs are still gone. And I still cannot open the
file. I too, had moved the file from one folder to another. Please anyone
help.

Bettie ,
if someone tells you the answer to this please email me also..
(e-mail address removed) this is a 3 month old computer and I paid enough to get
the new edition of MS office and it is worthless IMO I can not access any
created .doc files.
I can creat them but I can not access them once they are created!!! so what
is the point here?
I also have preformed all the recommended "Fixes" and nothing is helping;
nor am I running Norton!
I would like to ask you one thing..
did you have a previous issue with the product key after the first 21 days?
prompting you to enter it and now again it will not allow you to access the
files just keeps popping up that blasted notice that there was a serious
error and if you would like to recover the data press repair and then you
get a error reporting notice to send or ignore?
I am going to attempt a restore to Feb 28th which was the last time I was
able to access it and see if that helps... if you email me I will let you
know if it works..
I work as a computer tech support specialist, but this is beyond my
comprehension!!
