Word can't save docs after Encarta 06 installation

I am managing a school Network, and have done a network install of
Encarta 06 and Student 06 - which required me to be logged on as an
administrator -
fair enough

Since installing, non-administrators are no longer able to save
documents in Word - Excel, Publisher etc are fine - just not Word.
Clicking the Save button does absoluterly nothing - Save As is the same
- just nothing. On exiting Word, it says changes
were made to the normal template and do I wish to save them - which of
course I cant even if I wanted to.

It sounds like a macro issue - however, there is nothing in Word
startup folder, and if i delete the normal template and let it get
recreated, the issue is still there.

Any help?? pleaasseee!!

Addendum

I have this down to a permissions problem - but not sure why or how to
solve. If I add a user as an Power Users/administrators on the local
machine, then it is OK and they can save documents - but I do not want
them added as Power Users/administrators (primary school kids)

addendum 2

OK - If I strat Word up with /a switch, all is oK

im really confused now. Surely this has come up before somewhere, yet
hours of googling and kb searching have revealed nothing!!

Ok - a solution of sorts - although unsatisfactory - I had to uninstall
Learning Essentials for Microsoft Office - and all problems (as well as
that portion of Student 06!) went away

Has anyone heard of this, or can suggets a reason for it happening??
