Word can't see my printer anymore

Re: Word X Service Release 1

I can print from ANY OTHER application on my system
(PowerMac G4/OSX 10.3.4) except Word.

When I select Print, it says "No Printer Selected." Then
I select "Edit Printer List," and my printer IS LISTED and
selected.

Hi,

I would try a couple simple troubleshooting steps and see what happens.

First, use Disk Utility to repair permissions. If that doesn't work then
visit the Preferences folder and (with Word closed) rename Word's
preferences files (in case you want to name the back again should this not
fix the problem). When you re-open word it should create a fresh set of
preferences.

Thanks Jim.

I apologize. I should've mentioned I've already tried this..., several times.

As well as removing the entire Office suite, repairing permissions, and
reinstalling it, then repairing again.

All to no avail.

Bingo! That was it. Specifically, it was Little Snitch.

I uninstalled and the printer showed up immediately in Word.
Repaired permissions and reinstalled Little Snitch and the printer
is still there.

Thank you VERY much Elliott.

That was it.

The guilty culprit was Little Snitch. Removed it and the printer became available
to Word immediately. Repaired permissions and reinstalled Little Snitch and all
is well

Thanks!!!!!!

I also found Little Snitch to be the problem, but no uninstall
required.

I just quit Word, turned off Little Snitch filtering, tried to print in
Word (saw my printer), quit word, restarted little snitch.

Checked in Word again, and the printer was there.

Every other program still saw the printer. What an odd problem. . . .
