Word changes dictionary from UK English to US English

A

aileenburnett

I have to keep changing my preferences (in Preferences, Spelling
options, and Tools, Language) to English UK as it seems to keep
flipping back to US English. Even when I've switched it to UK it still
picks up words like 'behaviour' and wants to change them to 'behavior'.

Can anyone help me set the default dictionary to English UK and make it
stick?

Cheers

You might want to check the language specified in the style of the
paragraph that contained the mis-corrected behaviour.
It might be a good idea to track back to the style it is ultimately
based on to completely eradicate US English from your difference engine
(ahem) ... computer.

Elliott's right. If you want the entire document to use English UK proofing
tools, you have to set it's language to English UK. Select the entire
document, go to Tools> Language and then select English UK.
