I know I have seen this in several forums but with no satisfactory answer. I
have also attempted to communicate with MS support with totally
unsatisfactory results.
First the issue in word. I am running XP SP3 with MS Office 2007 Home and
Student edition with SP1.
I can open a document, edit, save, edit, save, (edit, save several times),
then on the next save 1. the document has changed to read only and 2. I am
forced to save as with a new name.
Second the issue with MS support. I submitted a problem and I received a
email reply. When I attempt to reply I get a "not valid address message'. I
later get a message from the support rep that they have not received my
reply. Buried in their original message are instructions to forward the
message, make sure i include details of the error, my name, my email address
etc. All of this forced me to retype much information. I did get a reply this
time with same instructions.
Third issue with MS support. The suggestions include reinstalling Word,
reinstalling XP, etc etc etc. MS obviously has an issue with this sequence.
Does anyone on forum have an answer? Does MS admit they have an issue? Am I
missing the correct way to submit a problem report to MS?
