word closing alone

Max

Hi,

i have office 2003 SP1.

when i close a document, (from the X on the top left of the document) not
word closes completely. I know i'm using the right X and not the one for
Word. Plus, after word closes alone, i go see in the task manager and
Winword.exe is still running but word is closed.

need help.

If you only have one document open, then it's doing what it's supposed to
do. Use File|Close to keep Word open but without a document open.

In my version of Word (2003 SP1), I can close the last open document without
closing Word.
