Word Copy Problem

When I open numerous word files in office xp by using
the 'alt' key - occasionally numerous copies of that file
will be created in the folder if I return to it - as many
as 6 or 7. Is there some way to prevent this or am I
doing something wrong?

I don't recognize what you're doing. Could you describe the
steps involved in more detail, please? And which versions of
Word and Windows are involved?

Sounds to me as if he's actually holding Ctrl and inadvertently dragging as
he selects multiple files - which results in copies of the selected files.
