I just bought an Office Home & Student 2007. I installed it on my computer,
which had an Office 2000 Professional installed. I didn't uninstall Office
2000 because it also includes some other applications (e.g. Access 2000).
The installation is successful without any error. However, when Word 2007
was opened first time, I got an error: "Word could not create the work file.
Check the temp environment variable." When trying to open an existing Word
document, it looked some features were not available.
Most important, when trying to find a solution with Help, I found the Help
is not working. The error message is: "There is a problem with one or more
installed help files. Please repair your Office Installation and try again."
Later I found this problem exists in all applications in the package (Excel,
PowerPoint, etc.). I followed the steps and repaired the installation
several times, but the problem has never been solved.
I searched MS KB database and failed to find any similar problems. Please
help me. Thanks.
