word could not load e-mail envelope

When attempting to send a message from Word 2000, I get the error: "Word
could not load the e-mail envelope. This could be caused by a netword
connection problem or a problem with your office installation."

I have used the repair function to repair my office installation and there
does not appear to be anything wrong with my internet connection.
