word count display limit

I have just passed the 100,000 word mark in a document and have found that
the live word count on the status bar at the bottom of the screen is no
longer visible. If I delete some words so that it is under 100,000 words then
it reappears. I assume it is a spacing issue on the status bar, but I was
wondering if there was an update that fixed this problem or if anyone else
had come across this issue. The word count window still appears if I click on
the area where the word count is supposed to be on the status line.
It's a bit silly that I can't resize the area of the status line to allow
enough space for the display once I pass 100,000 words.

There is no such limit here, even when I have all of the possible items
displayed on the status bar. The document on which I tried this has
16,239,894 words

I made the mistake of not including the following info.
I'm running Word 2007 on Leopard for OSX.

I guess that is where the frisky comes in. Sorry, I know zilch about
Leopard on OSX.

You might try posting to the microsoft.public.mac.office.word newsgroup on
the msnews.com news server. Also no idea how you would do that on a
Macintosh or if you can get there via the web interface.
