Word Count is showing at bottom of document continally

Am having problems with word count - it is continually counting on all
documents once the document is saved. It shows at the bottom of each
document and states" Word is calculating the word count". If you hit
"cancel" it still does it. Anyone have similar problem - if so, how did you
cure it. Thanks

What version of Word? Is there a NumWords field in the document, or are you
using third-party software that provides a word count?

I am using Word 2003 - has its own word count and is constantly counting at
the bottom of the document. Help

This is not standard in Word 2003. Even if you display the Word Count
toolbar, you still have to click Recount to update. You must have some sort
of add-in providing the continuous word count.
