Word crashes during print with {PRINT \p pic}

I'm trying to use a PRINT field to capture the rectangle for the next
picture in the paragraph, but Word crashes when I print.

If no picture appears later in the same paragraph as the PRINT field, Word
does not crash; but if a picture is present, Word will crash. Of course, you
have to print to a PostScript printer driver. I've tried both the Adobe PDF
driver as well as an HP LaserJet 2300. Word 2000, 2002, and 2003 all crash;
Word 97 appears to ignore PRINT fields.

I'm aware of the documentation at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP051861821033.aspx but it
doesn't say much about "\p pic" other than that it applies to the next
picture in the paragraph. Capturing the rectangle of the current paragraph
via "\p para" seems to work fine, as long as the paragraph is large enough
(more than 1" tall).
