Word crashes every 2 minutes...

Hi,
this is my first post.
I am totally desperate.
I work with Word 2008 just fine till when i pass my documents to colleagues. when my documents get back to me, word starts crashing no stop.
this happens with rtf, doc & docx documents. tried rebooting, fixing privileges and deleting the preferences. it is since when i bought office that i have to live with this problem and i am frustrated...

after the last crash i got this error report:

What machines are your colleagues using, and what are they doing to that
document?

I am going to take a wild guess that they are on Word 2007 and they are
regenerating the Table of Contents.

Word 2007 generates hyperlinks in the Table of Contents. Word 2008 normally
ignores this, but in this case, it appears to be crashing your copy of Word.

But that's a pure guess. If you want to email me a "before" and "after"
document pair, I will send them in for investigation.
