We use Word and Outlook uses Word as the default editor.
So when Outlook starts slowing down, then you see Word
start to crash. Can't open any word doc at all. This
will remain consistent until you delete old tmp files and
then defrag your hard drive. I have had this issue in
both XP and Windows 2000 Pro. Once you do the fix, things
are good for about 2 or 3 months and then the crashes
start again - and when they do - you have to do the same
thing again. Hard drive space, memory, processor, and
page file are all adequate.
